I've dropped my weight to 3300ish running 415rwhp with full Tein coilover suspension, aftermarket bushings, sway bars, etc, etc. I'm only about 2 or 3 seconds behind a turbo miata in SM2 who is a damn good driver. Keep in mind that he's running race tires and I run street tires still. Typically race tires can shave off 1 or 2 seconds off your time so as you can see I'm not too far behind. You just have to do some more suspension mods to keep up. And dont forget mods to the driver. Get in as much seat time as possible or maybe take an autocross course. You also might want to invest in some big brakes like the StopTechs that Coz is selling. If you can hold off on braking longer you will be able to go deeper into a turn and shave off a lot of time. Remember that your car can always brake faster than it can accelerate. The only exception to the rule is drag racing. :) True, the Z isnt the best autocross car but if you're looking for an autocross car then you should have gotten a Miata in the first place. Me, I bought the Z because of its performance, heritage and design. And I can autocross it.
